November has the birthstones of Topaz and Citrine.
Topaz is considered one of the most powerful gemstones and is said to facilitate the balance of emotions and provide protection from greed.
Topaz is available in a rainbow of colors including yellow, pink, purple, orange and many blues. The most prized is called “Imperial Topaz” and features an orange body of color with pinkish undertones.
In the old days, all yellow gems were called topaz and even today is often confused with citrine.
Citrine is known as the “healing quartz” and is said to support vitality and health while encouraging and guiding hope, energy and warmth within the wearer.
Citrine ranges from pale yellow to dark brownish orange.
