Rings are always a bit challenging… due to individual ring size. And I seem to sell them in cycles. I won’t sell any for a couple of months, then suddently I am out of rings. And here I am again needing rings to round out my inventory.
Because of this, often when I am creating rings I will design and fabricate several at the same time. I start by picking some stones I think will be good for rings and start designing the settings.
Here are the seven stones I startd with for this round. Okay, one was a fail, it really didn’t want to be a ring and the setting went sideways. No fear, it did end up in pendant that I wasn’t planning.
Once I know what the designs are for each stone and begin creating them I can decide the type of band that will be incorporated. Unless the stone and setting is completely integrated, which I was not ding this round. I usualy use on of two styles of bands for my rings.
Of course my favorite part is when I finally get to start setting stones. They didn’t all come off the bench at the same time during this round. First there was three, then two, then the last one.
