Generally when I am heading over to Joseph, Oregon it is in January.  And I make the trip for the Eagle Cap Extreme Sled Dog Race, my race fix for the season.  But not this year. I broke a bone in my foot this winter and it kept me from going to the race.  Can you say bummed out?  On so many levels.  So when someone mentioned I should check out the Wallowa Valley Festival of the Arts, I figured, hey why not apply, it would give me a great excuse to see friends and to see Joseph without snow… hopefully.

Two of the three pieces I submitted were accepted into the show.  And a third piece will be in the auction.  I don’t usually participate in this type of art show, so am looking forward to the experience    I am also looking forward to seeing people I usually only get to see once a year.

I am also looking forward to browsing in all the shops that are closed during the winter.  And shops like the Indigo Gallery which have limited hours – where I am out on the trail. I hear the coffee shop which just opened up the last time I was there, Red Horse Coffee Traders has excellent food now, so have to check that out. And my favorite…. Arrowhead Chocolates… yum… yes, I will probably have to stop in there a couple of times while I am in town.

So if you are in the area, please stop by the show and say hello! And… If you would like to get our communication on upcoming shows, new work and what is on Dona’s bench… please sign up for our monthly newsletter below.

All the best,

Dona
