The line of jewelry that is now called Cherished Paws Jewelry to honor our furry friends all began with a dog named Forest. I have to admit I was really frustrated when we said good bye to Forest. He was way to young to be saying good bye to. On the way home I decided that something good had to come out of it, and the first Rainbow Bridge beaded bracelet with paw prints was born.
Since that time, the line has taken on a life of its own. And I am honored each time I get an order to make one of the pendents with the name of a special furry friend on the back. I have also had the honor of making one of a kind pendents based off of pictures.
July has been a month of loss here at the studio. We said good bye to my main studio dog Chinook the beginning of the month and then two weeks later we said good bye to Boomer. Both of these guys were incredible sled dogs with bigger than life personalities. Chinook being the puppy from hell who turned into my pal and comedian, and Boomer who is best know for using Gary’s cell phone to call me from the dog yard one evening. Both will be terribly missed…
On the upside, Wya the blind dog, and Kakonee the senior, who we adopted recently have settled in quite well and soon I will be announcing a couple of new works in their honor.
In the mean time, hug your furry friends, as they are all here for too short of a time, and yet they bring such great joy during their time with us.
