I always love a good tip to make my work easier. I had completely forgotten this one until someone mentioned it the other day.

In our quest to create bezels the correct size, we sometimes get them just a hair too small. In class I generally have people remake the bezel, as the point of the class to to learn to make the bezels correctly. But once you know how to make them, here is a great little tip to help when you get them just a bit too snug.

On your steel bench block lay your bezel on its side. Insert a dapper or metal stamp. Really any round steel tube shaped tool will work. And roll the tool inside your bezel to stretch the bezel just a bit to accommodate the stone.

Happy Stone Setting!
